FaithFest on October 4th

Posted by Pastor Derek on August 13th, 2008

FaithFest is coming again to Faith Baptist Bible College this year. Don’t forget this date, October 4th, mark it down!!! With over 1,200 in attendance last year, the word on the street is that you don’t want to miss it this year. With more than 20 inflatable activities, radio-controlled trucks, dodgeball tournaments, NASCAR seat simulators, and two rallies with Ken Rudolph, we will stay busy all day.
Faithfest is open to all teenagers in grades 7-12. This is a quality evangelistic youth event where the gospel is preached and teens are given the opportunity to respond, all in a safe, fun filled environment. The Lord has gifted Ken Rudolph to be able to clearly communicate the gospel, so bring your friends!!!

  • Cost is $15 per student, early registration deadline is September 15th. After September 15th the cost is $25.
  • Sign up in the student center.

STEM 2008 Recap

Posted by Pastor Derek on July 1st, 2008

What a great mission trip this year! As I reflect over the week I praise God for His amazing grace. What a joy it was to be able to spread a passion for God’s glory as we shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those children in Lorain, Ohio. What a privilege it was to be able to serve along side Pastor John & Willie Mae Williams and the people of International Community Baptist Church. Throughout the week we had 75 different children attend the Vacation Bible School. We had a high of 52 kids on our last night, which was Thursday. Please continue to pray for the 14 children who made professions of faith. As a team before the trip, we prayed all along for prepared hearts that would be receptive to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As in the “Parable of the Sower” Luke 8:15 says, “But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.” Please pray that these children would bear much fruit. Here is a photo album of the week.

Mission Trip - Update, part 2

Posted by Pastor Derek on June 19th, 2008

We had another solid turnout last night with 46 kids and several more salvation decisions made.  Yesterday afternoon we visited the Faith Baptist Community Center in downtown Cleveland.  We were able to sit in on preaching session and have lunch with the area people who have so many needs.  We are excited about our last night of Vacation Bible School.  Please pray for those kids who have not yet responded to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Thank you for your prayers.  We will see you in a couple of days.

Mission Trip Update From Pastor Derek

Posted by Pastor Derek on June 18th, 2008

We apologize for not updating sooner, but we have had a hard time establishing an internet connection here in Ohio.  On Monday night we had 33 kids attend the Vacation Bible School.  Last night, Tuesday, we had 51 kids!!!  We also had several salvation decisions.  Several of our classes were too big and we are making the necessary adjustments.  Today, Pastor John Williams, is taking us up to Cleveland to check out a rescue mission, a ministry of Baptist Mid-Missions.  We will try to update you several more times during the week.  Please continue to pray for us.

Youth Cafe Now Open

Posted by Pastor Derek on April 28th, 2008

After several months of renovating the “old kitchen” we now have an updated youth cafe which will house junior & senior high students of Faith Baptist Church. I am extremely thankful for the leadership and people of FBC who allowed us to complete this project. There were many people who contributed their time, money, special skills, and resources to make this “dream” a reality. I am excited about the unique ways in which we will be able to minister to students and visitors of Faith Alive Student Ministries.

Our menu:

  • We are currently serving Irish Cream & Italian cappuccinos, as well as hot chocolate.
  • If you want something a little cooler, we are serving Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Mountain Dew.
  • If you have 50 cents, then one of these fine beverages can be yours.

Our hours:

  • Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 7:00 pm before our student ministry begins
  • Sunday mornings from 9:30 – 9:45 am before Sunday school starts

Hope to see you soon!

Wednesday Night Student Ministry for April 16th

Posted by Pastor Derek on April 16th, 2008

Microwaves, rattlesnakes, and tires are just a few things that we have found off 19th Street in Mason City, IA. What will we find this Wednesday night? Hey students, wanted to let you know that we will be cleaning up 19th Street during our Wednesday night student ministry time. It is suppose to be very windy, so dress accordingly. Hope you students can make it out as we have the opportunity to encourage our community. Please be praying for specific ways in how we can minister this Wednesday night.
